A NOTE FROM ADAM, DIRECTOR FOR ‘WE WILL ROCK YOU’
We Will Rock You is one of the most exciting shows to perform in. It’s bold, funny, rebellious, packed with incredible music and full of opportunities for performers to shine.
For our youth production, my vision is simple: to create a show that feels electric from the moment the lights go down.
This will be a high-energy, laugh-out-loud, full-throttle celebration of Queen’s music. A show where the audience don’t just sit and watch, they feel it. The kind of performance that builds and builds until the whole audience are on their feet.
But this production is about more than just putting on a great show.
This year marks the 50th anniversary of SWMTC Youth Group, and we want We Will Rock You to be a statement about what our youth group is capable of. We’re going to challenge ourselves creatively, push the boundaries of what young performers believe is possible and create something truly unforgettable together.
My ambition is to create a production with:
• A mind-blowing set that transforms the stage
• Big, powerful ensemble numbers that fill the Town Hall with sound
• Characters that are bold, funny and unforgettable
• A band and soundtrack that the audience can feel as well as hear
Most importantly, I want this to be a show where everyone involved feels part of something really special.
Whether you’re a past member or thinking about joining the youth group for the first time, We Will Rock You offers a huge range of roles, ensemble moments and opportunities to get stuck in.
We’re performing the Schools Edition of the show, where the music has been thoughtfully adapted to suit young performers’ voices. This means more people can confidently take on these iconic Queen songs and really enjoy performing them.
This production will be ambitious, creative and amazing fun.
When the curtain goes up, it won’t just be another show.
It will be an epic celebration of 50 years of SWMTC Youth Group and we want you there with us. See you at auditions, Adam
